That's according to Representative Savannah Maddox, who was the sponsor of House Bill 542.
Last night, she tweeted that she was told members did not want to vote on the measure.
In her tweet, she outlined changes that were made to the bill in hopes of getting it passed.
They included a caveat for private institutions and for events at stadiums or arenas.
With more than 1000 spectators, as well as a requirement that guns be safely stored in university housing.
Maddox, who dropped out of the governor's race last year, went on to say, quote, It's clear that there is much work to be done in Kentucky to educate legislators about the importance of protecting our right to keep and bear arms.
No university in Kentucky has voiced support for the bill, but 13 states have a similar law.
