It was 215 to 214.
Critics of the bill say it will mean cuts to health care to benefit the wealthy, but backers say the middle class will benefit.
Here is Congressman Andy Barr, a Republican from Kentucky's sixth district.
Republicans held together and delivered this victory for President Donald Trump.
And this would not have happened.
Make no mistake, Maria.
This would not have happened without the leadership of President Donald Trump, who came to the Capitol and rally the troops and told us how important this was.
And 77 million Americans voted for President Trump, and we delivered for him.
My message to senators right now is vote with President Trump and deliver this tax relief.
And this big, beautiful bill for the American people.
Congressman Thomas Massie of Kentucky's fourth district was one of just two Republicans to vote against the bill.
He says the spending cuts don't go far enough.
Congressman Morgan McGarvey, a Democrat from the third district, says they go too far.
Family.
13.7 million Americans will lose their health care.
We are going to gut the mayor America's premier anti-hunger program.
It's going to add trillions of dollars to the nation's debt.
You don't believe me?
The Congressional Budget Office says it.
My colleagues, Mr. Schweikert, Mr. Roy, Mr. Massie, they all say this is going to add to the debt and to the deficit of this country.
And for what?
So Donald Trump's small circle of billionaire donors get a tax break.
The bill now moves to the US Senate and some senators have said they'll be making more changes.
Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky says he's a no.
He says it's because the bill would add trillions of dollars to the national debt.
Now, Governor Andy Beshear says the budget bill, if it becomes law, will hurt Kentuckians.
Yeah.
The so-called big beautiful bill is going to lead to more Kentuckians not being able to see a doctor, not having health care coverage, less revenue to support our rural hospitals and health systems.
And it's going to leave more of our kids and seniors going hungry.
It's wrong, it's cruel.
And it's going to to put, any of the, the policies that, that they want to pass is going to be borne, by those that will lose their health care coverage and food assistance.
