THE FORMER'S LEADER ALONG WITH OTHERS WERE FOUND GUILTY TO KEEP DONALD TRUMP IN POWER BY LEADING A MOB TO ATTACK THE CAPITOL.
FOUR OF THE FIVE DEFENDANTS WERE FOUND GUILTY TO OBSTRUCT THE CERTIFICATION OF AN ELECTION.
ALL WERE CONVICTED OF INTERFERING WITH MEMBERS OF CONGRESS.
THE CONSPIRACY ACCOUNTS ALONE COULD RESULT IN PRISON SENTENCES OF UP TO 50 YEARS.
>>> THE ARIZONA SUPREME COURT TODAY ORDERED KARI LIKE TO PLAY $50,000 FOR CLAIMING THE BALLOTS TO INSERTED IN THE MARICOPA COUNTY ELECTIONS.
THE SANCTION WAS APPROPRIATE BECAUSE THERE WAS UNEQUIVOCAL SANCTIONS TO THE COURT.
THE 35,000 PLOT CLAIM, I SHOULD SAY.
THEY DID NOT ORDER LIKE TO PAY FEES TO GOVERNOR KATIE HOBBS AND FEONTES.
>>> A MEGADONOR PAID THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS OF BOARDING SCHOOL TUITION FOR ONE OF THOMAS' GRAND NEPHEWS AND THIS IS THE SAME G.O.P DONOR THAT PAID FOR UNDISCLOSED LUXURY VACATION TRIPS FOR THOMAS AND HIS WIFE.
HE DIDN'T KNOW HE WAS SUPPOSED TO REPORT THOSE TRIPS AND NO COMMENT FROM THOMAS ON THE TUITION ALLEGATIONS, BUT DEMOCRATS ON CAPITOL HILL, THEY ARE COMMENTING.
>> I HOPE THAT CHIEF JUSTICE THOMAS UNDERSTANDS SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE AND THE REPUTATION OF THE SUPREME COURT IS AT STAKE HERE AND THE CREDIBILITY OF THE COURT WHEN IT COMES TO THE FUTURE DECISIONS IS AT STAKE AND HIS REPUTATION IS THE LEADER OF THIS COURT.

THE BILL DIDN'T TACKLE AFFORDABILITY AND THERE WAS A LOT OF FOCUS IN THERE ON BENEFITS TO DEVELOPERS AND DEVELOPMENT COMMUNITY WHICH CREATES AN IMBALANCE IN OUR VIEW BETWEEN THE RIGHTS OF THE RESIDENTS VERSUS DEVELOPMENTS AND THAT TILTS IN THE FAVOR OF DEVELOPERS.

SO IF IT'S ZONED COMMERCIAL, ZONES AGRICULTURAL, THE BILL AS WRITTEN REQUIRES IT TO BE REZONED TO RESIDENTIAL.
WE HAVE PROVIDED AN ALTERNATIVE THAT STILL REQUIRES THE COMPLETION OF THE ZONING PROCESS IN 180 DAYSES BUT ALLOWS THE CITY TO IDENTIFY IF THAT AREA NEEDS TO BE CONVERTED OR NOT.

WE DID A PEER REVIEW FOR THE LEAGUE OF CITIES WHERE WE LOOKED AT THE REPORTS AND JUST TO QUALIFY THIS, WE DO MORE WORK FOR THE DEVELOPERS TO HELP PROJECTS GET THROUGH.
SO WE SEE BOTH SIDES.
BUT ONE OF THE PROBLEMS IS, NONE OF THE REPORTS IDENTIFIED THE CAUSE OF THE HOUSING AFFORDABILITY ISSUE WHICH HAD TO DO TO GET US THROUGH COVID.
WE HAD MASSIVE SPENDING AND NOW THEY'RE INCREASING AND EVERYTHING WAS OUT OF WHACK.
NOW IF YOU LOOK AT CHANGES AT THE LOCAL LEVEL, IN SOME CASES, THERE HAVE BEEN SOME CHANGES, BUT ALL OF A SUDDEN IN THE LAST TWO YEARS, THERE WASN'T JUST A BIG COLLUSIONARY ACT TO SAY WE WON'T ALLOW DEVELOPMENT TO HAPPEN.
MOST IS BROADER MACROECONOMIC.
IN OUR EXPERIENCE, PART OF IT HAS DO WITH ZONING REFORM RELATED TO TIMING.
A LOT IS CONSISTENCY AT THE CITY LEVEL AND INFORMING POLICY MAKERS.
I'VE SEEN MORE PROJECTS GET HUNG UP BECAUSE A COUPLE OF COUNCIL MEMBERS SAID WE DON'T WANT A THREE-STORY MULTIUNIT.
WE WANT TWO AND LET'S EXTEND THIS FURTHER.
WE NEED THAT TO BE MORE CONSISTENT.
DO WE NEED THE STATE IMPOSING THAT OR IT'S IN THEIR ECONOMIC BEST INTERESTS TO DO THIS?
>> Ted: THAT'S WHERE WE GET BACK TO LEGISLATION, BECAUSE IT'S THE STATE SAYING TO DO THIS BECAUSE OF ZONING SINGLE FAMILY OCCUPATION WITH THE SB2536 AND A ZONE CREATED BY CITIES.

THIS OTHER BILL ADDRESSES WHAT THE LAWMAKER CALLS MISSING MIDDLE, DUPLEXES AND TRIPLEXES AND THIS SORT OF THING.

ARE WE MISSING THAT COMPONENT OF HOUSING?

I THINK THE CITIES CAN ALLOW FOR ADDITIONAL TYPES AND KEEP THEIR ECONOMIC PLAN INTACT.
THE DETAILS OF THE WILLS ARE CHANGING AND THE DESCRIPTIONS HAVE BEEN CHANGING.
PEOPLE ARE SAYING TOO MANY PARKING REQUIREMENTS.
I KNOW CITIES WHERE THERE ARE TOO MAYBE AND LET'S NOT HAVE ANY IS JUST DUMB.
SEEING OK, IF HOUSING COMES IN, THEN THAT PREEMPTS MAYBE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT LAND THAT THE CITIES HAVE BEEN WORKING ON.
I'M SORRY, BUT THE HOME BUILDERS HAVE BEEN NEVER NEVER BEEN IN ANY LOCATION PROJECT.
SO THERE'S A DISCONNECT BETWEEN WHAT THE HOME BUILDERS KNOW AND WHAT IS GOING ON AT THE CITY AND WE CAN'T RELY ON THE HOME BUILDERS NOT BUILDING IN A CERTAIN LOCATION.
THE HOLD HOME BUILDERS ARE GIVEN A HARD TIME.
>> Ted: THE MAYORS DON'T WANT TO LOSE CONTROL OVER DEVELOPERS.
IS THERE A POINT THERE?
>> FACTUALLY INACCURATE.
WHAT ARE MAYORS OTHER THAN REPRESENTATIVES OF THE CONSTITUENTS.
THEY'RE HEARING FROM CONSTITUENTS WHO ARE ASKING FOR THIS LEGISLATION NOT TO BE PASSED.
Mr. KAISER AND ALL PURSUING THIS HAVE HEARD FROM THOSE NEIGHBORHOOD GROUPS.
PROMISE ARIZONA, I REFERENCED THEM EARLIER HAS PUT A LETTER OUT TO THE LEGISLATURE NOT TO PURSUE THIS LEGISLATION.
HOME ARIZONA, A GROUP OF DEVELOPERS HAS AGREED TO WORK WITH THE INEFFICIENCIES, THEY'VE SENT LETTERS TO THE LEGISLATURE.
>> Ted: HE SAYS, BASICALLY, THAT THE CITIES HAVE A MAFIA STYLE GRIP AND NOT FOR HIS BILLS BECAUSE THEY'RE AFRAID OF THE CITIES.

THIS WOULD HAVE BROUGHT THEM INTO THE GRID SO THAT IT'S MORE -- SO IT'S BETTER REGULATED.
>> Ted: THE NEW LAW WHICH WAS VETOED AND WE MAY SEE A VERSION POP UP LATER ON, BUT IT SAYS YOU HAVE TO SHOW YOUR CERTIFICATE.
YOU HAVE TO SEW LABELS AGAIN AND ALL OF THAT IS EXPANDED, AS WELL, TRUE?

WHERE IT WAS CREATED, YOU WOULD HAVE YOUR CERTIFICATE LIKE THE PERSON SELLING BREAD WHICH IS THE COTTAGE INDUSTRY THING.
I FELT LIKE IT DID A GOOD JOB BRINGING PEOPLE INTO THE FOLD LIKE TAMALES PUTTING BETTER REGULATIONS IN PLACE AND ENSURE THEY'RE TAKING THE FOOD HANDLER'S CLASS.
THAT WAY, NOT ONLY DO YOU IMPROVE THE FOOD SAFETY COMPONENT OF IT, BUT IMPORTANTLY, IT'S THE OTHER ASPECT OF PUBLIC HEALTH THAT I WAS SO ENTHUSIASTIC ABOUT.
IT HELPS PEOPLE EARN EXTRA MONEY ON THE SIDE THIS IMPROVES TO MAKE A GOOD LIVING BY THEIR FAMILY, BUY BETTER FOOD FOR THEMSELVES AT HOME AND GET THINGS EXTRA STUFF FOR SCHOOL CALLED THE ESSENTIAL DETERMINANTS OF HEALTH.
AND THAT IS WHAT DOMINATES PUBLIC HEALTH.
PUBLIC HEALTH IS MORE THAN JUST GERMS.
IT'S HELPING PEOPLE TO HAVE A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE WHICH MAYBE MONEY HELPS YOU DO THAT.
>> Ted: I KNOW YOU'VE BEEN ADAMANT ABOUT THIS, ECONOMICS, MAKING A LIVE AND GETTING MONEY, THAT RAISINGS YOUR HEALTH PROFILE AND JUST BY GETTING OUT SHADOWS AND SELLING A TAMALE OR WHATEVER, THAT HELPS WITH MONEY AND LIFTS THAT TIDE.
>> IT'S A FOUNDATIONAL ASPECT OF PUBLIC HEALTH.
PUBLIC HEALTH IS THE SOCIAL DETERMINANT AND IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT IS THE PRIMARY DRIVER OF A FAMILY'S HEALTH STATUS, IT'S INCOME.

>> THIS IS FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING RESOURCES FROM WHICH PEOPLE CAN END HOMELESSNESS BY PROVIDING DOCUMENTS, STATE I.D.
BIRTH CERTIFICATE.
IF YOU DON'T HAVE AN I.D., YOU CAN'T GET HOUSING AND ONE CLIENT SAID THE ONLY THING YOU CAN GET WITHOUT AN I.D.
IS ARRESTED.
YOU HAVE TO HAVE AN I.D.
TO BE A MEMBER OF SOCIETY AND PEOPLE HOMELESS, PEOPLE WHO END UP HOMELESS OR COMING INTO HOMELESSNESS LACK THOSE IDENTIFICATION DOCUMENTS.
>> Ted: ONLY FULL-TIME PROVIDER?
>> OTHERS WHO PROVIDE SERVICES AND THE ONLY FULL-TIME PROVIDER IF THE STATE OF ARIZONA AND PROVIDED 12,000 DOCUMENTS, MORE THAN 12 US TO DOCUMENTS LAST YEAR.
>> Ted: SO TALK TO US ABOUT THIS, BECAUSE THIS IS COMMON SENSE.
YOU DON'T HAVE AN I.D., GOOD LUCK GETTING A JOB, GOOD LUCK RENTING ANY KIND OF A PLACE, CORRECT?
>> YES, TRUE.

LET'S SAY I COME TO YOU AND I'M UNSHELTERED AND LOSTING, ROUGH TIME FOR ME.

IN ARIZONA BEFORE AND YOU LOST IT, IT'S THE SAME PROCESS IF WE LOST OUR DRIVERS LICENSE.
WE GET IN THE SYSTEM, WE PUT IN OUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER AND A WEEK OR TEN DAYS LATER, A NEW I.D., NEW DRIVER'S LICENSE SHOWS UP IN THE MAIL.
FOR MANY CLIENTS, THEY DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO A COMPUTER OR $12.
AND SO, IN THOSE CASES, SIMPLE, RELATIVELY QUICK.
IF YOU HAVEN'T HAD AN I.D.
IN THE STATE OF ARIZONA BEFORE, CAN'T GET AN I.D.
WITHOUT AN I.D.
AND YOU START WITH A BIRTH CERTIFICATE AND WE WORK WITH CLIENTS TO GET THE NECESSARY INFORMATION THAT THEY NEED TO GET THE BIRTH CERTIFIED AND CERTIFICATE AND SECONDARY PIECE OF INFORMATION TO QUALIFY FOR THE STATE I.D.
LAST YEAR WE PROVIDED FOUR THOUSAND BIRTH CERTIFICATES FROM ALL 50 STATES, AND A HANDFUL OF PEOPLE BORN, CITIZENS BORN ON A MILITARY BASE.
>> Ted: AGAIN, OBTAINING THE DOCUMENTS, SECURING THE DOCUMENTS, ALL PART OF THE PROCESS?
>> YES.
>> Ted: THE ONE THOUSAND VOICES CAMPING,CAMPAIGN, WHAT IS THIS?
>> IT GREW OUT OF A CONVERSATION ABOUT FIVE YEARS AGO.
ONE OF THE BOARD MEMBERS SAID, YOU KNOW, IF WE HAD A THOUSAND PEOPLE SUPPORTING US THROUGH THE ARIZONA TAX CREDIT SYSTEM, WE COULD FUND OUR ENTIRE OPERATION FOR A YEAR.
THOSE DAYS, WE WERE DOING 7500 DOCUMENTS AND OUR BUDGET WAS $400,000.
SO A THOUSAND TAX CREDITS WOULD TAKE CARE OF THAT.
THAT THOUSAND RATTLED AROUND FOR AWHILE.
THE ARIZONA TAX CREDIT SYSTEM IS, I THINK, MISUNDERSTOOD BY A LOT OF PEOPLE.
OF A 100% OF TAXPAYERS, 5% USE THE TAX CREDIT.
95% ELIGIBLE TO SUPPORT A NONPROFIT USE IT.
SO THINKING ABOUT THIS THOUSAND AND RATTLING THAT AROUND AND THIS IS NOT JUST A DONOR FUNDRAISERRING CAMPAIGN.
ALTHOUGH, WE WANT TO RAISE FUNDS, BUT WE BEGAN THINKING ABOUT THE THOUSANDA THE CONCEPT OF THE TAX CREDIT AS YOUR VOICE IN GOVERNMENT.
YOU'RE TELLING THE GOVERNMENT THAT I WOULD LIKE YOU TO TAKE $400 OUT OF THE GENERAL FUND AND SHIFT IT TO THE HOMELESS I.D.
FUND AND THE HUMAN SERVICE CAMPUS, WHATEVER YOUR FAVORITE NONPROFIT MIGHT BE IN THE CHARITY SPACE.
BY DOING THAT, YOU'RE EXERCISING YOUR VOICE.
BY THINK BUILDING THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE THAT AREN'T AWARE OF THE WORK THAT'S GOING ON DOWNTOWN ON THE HUMAN SERVICE CAMPUS AND THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO ARE SEEING ON THE NEWS, STORYING ABOUT HOMELESSNESS TODAY, IT'S TIME TO EDUCATE PEOPLE.
SO WE TOOK THAT THOUSAND, THE CONCEPT OF A THOUSAND VOICES AND SAID, LET'S JUST TALK ABOUT MAKING PEOPLE AWARE OF WHAT HOMELESSNESS IS, WHAT HOMELESSNESS IS NOT AND HOW THEY CAN GET INVOLVED AND HELPED AND THAT'S WHAT THE CAMPAIGN IS.

>> IT'S A ROLLING START AND WE'RE HERE AND THAT'S A BIG DEAL FOR US, TO GET THE PUBLICITY.
WE'VE HAD WELL-PLACED ARTICLES AND PEOPLE SIGNING UP TO JOIN THE CAMPAIGN.
