Dustin: All right, we're gonna take a short little break.
We'll be right back.
Thanks so much, everybody.
Adam Dick: We just kind of started playin' on the streets in, you know, Eureka, busking kind of.
We would play churches or open mic nights, anybody that would have us.
Kevin Porter: I've known these guys probably 25 years.
I mean, we would've packed it in years ago if we weren't having fun doing it.
So I think it's just the love, obviously, the love of music, but just bringin' that together with all of us, it's just kind of a special thing.
Dustin: We're great friends with each other.
We hang out with each other all the time anyway and then to have this outlet where you just play music, and music is just so fulfilling.
Feel really blessed to have this community around us that really supports us and comes out to the shows and sells things out, and, yeah, it's really fun.
Adam: It's really great to feel like, you know, you've practiced, you've rehearsed, and you kind of know where everything's going and then just to get up on stage and kind of get lost and in the moment and the energy of the crowd.
The audience really is, in a live performance, they are a member of the band, and it's like, if they're participating and if they're, like, actively playing in the band, it's like the whole energy level just climbs.
Dustin: By playing on the street and stuff, we had a lot of old gospel songs that we'd bring out and stuff, and so it's fun to, you know, kind of play to your location, your audience, so we're dustin' off our second set.
It's gonna be a bunch of old gospel stuff, and the acoustics of these old churches are just amazing.
And so, yeah, we're a big, amplified band, so we--kind of tone it down and see how it works out tonight.
You know, just playing and singing in that kind of acoustics is really a wonderful experience.
Adam: We all come from church background.
I mean, that's how we all met.
A lot of these songs are--they're just kind of meaningful in that sense, but I think also in the style of music that we play, there's a rich tradition of that as well, and so it's kind of fun to, yeah, to dust off numbers that kind of have, like, church meaning, but you might not necessarily get to sing 'em in church, or if you get to sing 'em in church, you might only get to sing 'em at, like, level five, but now we get to sing 'em at level ten.
So that's also kind of fun.
