While grieving the death of her son, Dr. Kandy Noles Stevens, an assistant professor of education at Southwest Minnesota State University, turned to writing. Through this process she learned how to be a more empathetic educator for her students. She advocates that, especially now with distance learning, students are not alone when they need help.
