Juan Gonzalez missed the herbs of his native Puebla in Mexico. Planting them grew into a business. First, he started a community garden plot planting papalo, purslane, epazote and other plants that he could sell to his fellow Mexican immigrants. Then, through an unlikely friendship, Gonzalez earned the opportunity to farm at scale.
