So many writers have been influenced by Poe.
It's almost hard to see how pervasive that impact has been.
The first detective story, Poe became the first American to invent a new literary genre, the first genuine science fiction writer de-identified intuition with scientific insight.
And I think for him, poetry is a really great example of the two coming together.
