Damon Panek is a ranger at the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. He's also a member of the Ojibwe Nation, one of the most recent Native American tribes to call this area home. Panek offers a wealth of cultural and historical knowledge, along with a deep passion for the natural world, to students who sign up for a 2 1/2 day outdoor experience on Stockton Island.
