Special | 8m 22s
The UW Arboretum is facing a downhill battle with storm water.
The UW Arboretum is at the bottom of an urban watershed and polluted storm water flows freely across its borders. The DNR requires that this storm water be cleaned up before it enters Lake Wingra, so the Arboretum and the surrounding cities are spending more than 6 million dollars to find out if native plants can not only reduce the amount of runoff but reduce the pollutants in the water as well.
