Patient Advocacy 3
Special | 7m 43s
Coping with cancer through poetry - a story of hope and tenacity.
With cancer, experimental medicine, and an insurance industry holding her future in their hands, Wisconsinite Pattie Boehlke sought any help she could find. Help came in the form of a patient advocate who helped work with the insurance companies to make treatments affordable. Pattie also wrote poems about the places that brought her happiness to cope with the pain of a life threatening illness.
