Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorshipToday we're exploring the Skyscraper of Sports, a hidden gem nestled in downtown Seattle, the Washington Athletic Club, or WAC.
Let's see how many sports we can find in one minute.
Come on.
On the second floor, you've got sports bar and lounge with really .. Third floor, the historic crystal ballroom where really cool meetings have taken place.
And on the fourth floor here, we're in a state of the art fitness facility that's .. Let's go check it out.
Before we get into the heavy lifting of the tour, always remember stretch out.
You can do that here.
Circuit training.
Weights.
Got it all.
It's a great way to let off a little steam.
You can take private Pilates classes.
Or join a spin class.
And on the fifth floor, we've got men's fitness, but we can't..
There's wolves.
Seattle's professional rugby team, the Seawolves, work out of the WAC.
Behind me.
Squash courts.
Next up, let's check out the pool.
Who would have thought there'd be a fool on the sixth floor of a downtown Seattle skyscraper, let alone a pool where Olympic champions have trained.
The heart of any good gym is the gym.
Here you'll find activities like basketball, ping pong, and even pickleball.
America's fastest growing sport, invented right here in Washington state.
And on the ninth floor is the indoor running track.
If that wasn't enough for you.
There's lacrosse, rugby, soccer, golf, all types of intramural sports played outside of the WAC.
I'm Angela.
Thanks for exploring.
I'll see you.
