I was, like, 12 years old.
So my dad was here, you know, and my brother.
So we.
We didn't live in Kansas.
and she would I remember she, you know, has already came home like, 3 or 4 days later.
You know, we was our home we went to school, we came home.
Whatever she needed, we done it for her.
So, yes, we were her caregivers.
Talk about the role of your kids being your caregivers during this journey.
Oh, my kids, they are awesome.
Amazing.
if I don't have them, I don't know what.
Yeah.
My brother, he took me to a few appointments, but it was my kids.
They were there for me all the time.
Still is to this day.
You have wonderful kids, and I've been lucky to meet, I believe, your daughter.
I was able to meet at one point.
Yes.
The youngest?
Yes.
So I have my oldest.
we we don't live too far from each other, like five minutes away, so it's like what you need.
You got this.
Can I come do this?
So they still continue to care for me.
When I got diagnosed, I didn't cry or anything because I said, okay, God gave me this for a reason.
It's going to take me to.
I'm going.
It's a reason that I have this.
I think my kids did, but I didn't.
so we just took the journey and just continue to ride with it.
And you have someone else in your family who just was diagnosed.
after my cousin.
And I, you know, helped her do her first treatment.
We took pictures because it's like a, I mean, like a journey board at work.
So I can, you know, have I got all my doctors, my nurses, everybody from radiation.
So you need to show that.
And I'm taking her through that now.
She's, you know, in remission.
and she has a little girl.
So I want her to be able to show her daughter.
You know this is what she went through.
And the inspiration that you are to your cousin is like what you've received from your family member.
So you're just passing it right along.
Right.
And I just try to help.
I have clients, a couple, you know, going through cancer.
And one of them, we had the same doctors.
And I always tell him, you, you listen to what he says.
Don't say you're not gonna do it.
You going to do it.
And don't let me hear about that.
You don't do it.
And that's what I love about it.
Because you keep it real.
It's like, okay, real and 100.
She's gonna give you the straight truth.
Whether you want to hear it or not.
But that's the beauty of having somebody who's been through it and can actually be in their corner to guide them along.
So I just appreciate you so much.
Thank you so much for being here.
Thank you.
