Most of these paintings, almost all of them were created out in the woods.
Hi, my name is Kelly Schamberger, and we're at the Great Lakes Aquarium in the Merrill Lynch Fine Arts Gallery.
And today I'm hanging my new solo exhibit.
It is called Intentional Attentions, and it will be up for the entire summer through Labor Day.
The concept of the collection is a reference to consciously choosing to pay attention to the beauty and the good things in the world, letting kids and families and adults see the sense of wonder again through my artist's eye, the same way that they're walking into these exhibits and seeing these fish or these critters, that it's almost like we're being immersed in their environment.
And in a way, this art does the same thing.
It's bringing you into an environment.
This collection is essentially a whole bunch of little moments collected of pretty things, and me being at peace out in the woods.
My hope with my art is always that it makes a positive impact, that it's beautiful, that it inspires people, and that when they walk away from it, they're still thinking about it.
And like that made me feel good to look at those paintings.
