Memories from the man who designed Smith Mountain and Leesville Dams
The Smith Mountain Pumped Storage Project consists of 2 dams and lakes. Using the technology of the day - a pencil and a slide rule - both dams were designed by Dr. Jeffrey Fong who at the time was in his mid-20s. Blue Ridge PBS sat down with Dr. Fong when he visited the area in 2016 for the 50th anniversary of the completion of the project.
