It just adds some sort of magic to it.
I have taken data from this Jane Doe's case and applied it to create all of these patterns.
My mother was a true artist.
She was expressing herself without regard for whether or not anybody would like it.
And it came from something that was from inside of her.
I take anybody in Open Arms.
They don't have to have any dance training.
They don't even have to be able to walk.
That's what makes it organic, because you and the building are reacting together.
It tells us about our humanity.
I mean, it tells us our story.
And it makes you feel less alone.
And I think it predisposes you to compassion.
You actually allow that saint through that image that the iconographer has done to be part of your life.
I feel like they're friends and they're helping me.
It's stunning.
Neon is art.
There's no question about it.
The thing that makes these signs so important is the history that surrounds them.
So it's really about an investigation of my personal history, and using European painting traditions to tell something that is not a... specifically a European story.
I feel like creativity is the thing that animates us.
I think it's essential.
