Severe blood shortage in New Jersey as donations drop

Andrea Cefarelli of New Jersey Blood Services says the shortage could last for months.

New Jersey Blood Services is pleading for blood donations. It tells NJ Spotlight News the state is critically low on supply. In fact, the region is now at a two- to three-day supply level, similar to supply levels at the peak of the pandemic. Fears over the spread of the delta variant appear largely to blame.
