With 67 judicial vacancies, New Jersey’s courts are in an unprecedented situation -- forced to delay, or cancel altogether, certain trials to keep criminal, family and domestic violence cases moving. The problem began during the pandemic with judicial confirmations stuck in a legislative logjam. The Governor’s Office continues to vet dozens of nominees.
