It started Thursday in Cincinnati with a group rallying against the arrest of a local chaplain by Ice.
Protesters marched across the Roebling Bridge toward Covington and blocked the road.
Covington police responded and said they first tried to move the protesters to the sidewalk.
Those who refused were arrested.
Body camera footage shows one of the individuals being repeatedly punched.
During a press conference on Friday.
Covington Police Chief said the officer thought the person was trying to reach for a weapon.
Covington's mayor also addressed the incident.
Let me be clear.
We fully support the right to peacefully assemble.
At the same time, we support our police officers who are often placed in incredible, difficult, fast moving situations.
But any use of force must be lawful and measure.
Police say the officer seen punching the individual has been placed on administrative leave while the investigation is underway.
