Newark residents protest possible fourth power plant

Is this is the first big test of New Jersey's environmental justice law?

Residents in the Ironbound neighborhood of Newark are demanding that the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission scrap a plan to build a gas-powered plant in the community. It would be the fourth power plant in the neighborhood, which is also home to an incinerator, Superfund site, and heavy diesel truck traffic from nearby Port Newark-Elizabeth.
