” Zines have kind of this history.
They're self-published.
Anyone can do it.
It was really popular in like anarchist circles and punk rock circles.
And it's just a format where anyone can publish their own content.
This is a solo project I write all the content.
Do other research, find all the images.
I also do all the little images and doodlings that are in here as well.
The Duluth ICE Company harvested 35,000 tons of ice in 1909, and that same year, 75,000 tons of ice were harvested in Duluth, half of which would be shipped out.
So only half of that was actually used locally.
I dont really have an official distribution or anything.
I just kind of toss them around in places that people might stumble upon or I give them out to my friends or people find me.
They can ask for a copy.
This is a totally unexpected way to reach new people and tell stories in ways that people don't expect.
