$26 billion to be paid to settle opioid lawsuits
New Brunswick-based Johnson & Johnson and three drug distributors have agreed to pay $26 billion to settle government lawsuits arguing that their mishandling of the painkillers helped create a public health crisis. Johnson & Johnson will pay $5 billion as part of the settlement.
