Through our partnership with Junior Achievement of Middle Tennessee.
The Nashville PBS storefront at JA BizTown is part of a vibrant learning experience that blends classroom lessons with a day long visit to a simulated town.
Inside our nonprofit media space, elementary schoolers step into leadership roles as they produce video content, manage operations, and collaborate as a team, all while discovering how A PBS station serves its community.
- My name is ... and I'm proud to be mayor at of JA BizTown.
Today is a very exciting day and we are here to celebrate Nashville PBS and open their newly updated space in JA BizTown with a ribbon cutting.
- I think what makes the experience being JA BizTown so unique has so much to do with them doing things they've never done before.
They're not only learning a little bit about how community works and the importance of being a producer and a manufacturer, and a consumer and a citizen, but also what it means to just work as a team.
- It's really fun and enjoyable.
I feel like I'll always want to come back and I learned to use my money wisely and don't spend it on like stuff that you really don't need.
- Nashville PBS has education engagement programming year round, and the partnership with Junior Achievement of Middle Tennessee and JA BizTown is a prime example of how we're working together to bring economic empowerment and opportunity for the next rising generation in Middle Tennessee.
- The ability for us to serve more than 11,000 students from the Middle Tennessee area simply doesn't happen without the partnership of Nashville PBS.
- My favorite thing of this experience was getting to know all the jobs and getting to know how to do my job, and it's just a very fun place for kids.
It's just like a mini adult town.
