(deep chiming music) According to a new Crosscut Elway poll, Washington residents say cost of living and housing are their top issues as lawmakers draft a new state budget.
The poll surveyed Washington voters on what they want to see from the 2023 legislative session.
Just over a third of the 403 registered voters polled said economic issues, including housing costs and inflation should be a main focus.
The new poll also shows robust support for legislation banning the sale or transfer of most semiautomatic rifles.
Majorities of respondents likewise support three specific proposals in Governor Jay Inslee's budget plan.
Spending $2 billion more on K through 12 schools, giving pay raises to state workers, and expanding the working family's tax credit.
