A special prosecutor is now handling the investigation

The Jan. 6 Committee is expected Thursday to drop its final report on the Capitol riot investigation derived from 1,000 witnesses and 1 million documents. The committee has recommended four criminal charges against former President Donald Trump, including inciting the Jan. 6, 2021 insurrection and obstructing Congress as it voted on a peaceful transfer of power.
