#### COVID cases declined last week - the first decline in a month.
But it was still the second-biggest weekly total since the pandemic began.
Kentucky had 300-thousand COVID cases in January, more than the previous four months combined.
#### Last week's COVID positivity rate was lower than the previous two weeks.
Today's positivity number is 28 and a half percent.
#### A Republican House bill, if passed, would remove state police from the governor's control.
According to the Lexington Herald-Leader, the bill proposes the creation of a nine-member commission to oversee police.
Commission members would hire state police leaders.
Right now, the state police commissioner answers to the governor and the justice secretary.
