Turning every stone Did it fall in a crack, that you're looking right at, failing to see can't find a thing.
Hats on the head Gloves on the hand.
Needles in the hay, But you looking the wrong way and don't even know, right under your nose.
Never meant to be found.
Whatever will you find when you run around in circles, what you seek may not be what you find.
Could drop in your lap, still not know where its at.
Lost time, may never be found again.
Aint even scratched the surface Believe you lost the purpose Retriever not retrieving, that right on the ground a dog without a smell, you got no lead, searching in vain for life's greater mysteries of the universe, or only a verse, or just your keys stumbling around, nose to the ground.
Youve lost track of how many tracks that youve backtracked, and packs youve unpacked and didnt find, nowhere in sight, Whatever will you find, when you run around in circles, panning for gold without having a pan.
Swept under the rug, a snake wouldve bit you right under your nose.
Aint even scratched the surface scratch your head, believe you lost the purpose Retriever not retrieving, that right on the ground.
Can't even find the purpose you drive without the keys, First, you need to find your glasses.
like a retriever not retrieving Not all thats lost will be found.
Open up a lid, where could it be hid?
Peering through the blinds, looking for what to find With a magnifying glass, walking right passed The minute you look away, where are your shades Rummaging around, nowhere in town, found success, but it came without happiness Even crossed the divide, but it was nowhere in sight Then you scoured the land only to find it in the palm of your hand.
Can it be known, where all the breath gets blown, riding the breeze.
Out there a worry wart, the other one ill, And then one being a pill.
You retreat alone on the back of the shelf.
Not to be seen, not even on a screen.
Just you and the walls, where you are, caught in a cobweb alone with the laundry.
All we breathe out, all we breathe in, breath of life, or a cough in the wind.
Forensic analyst zoomed on a germ, everything is crawling with worms...
Seasonal allergies, you reason a cold, or maybe dust from the mold?
to breathe in clean, nothing youll be blowing downstream.
When there isnt a germ of truth on tv, you don't know what is going on, don't know who to believe.
All we breathe out, all we breathe in, breath of life cough in the wind All we breathe out, all we breath in, breath of life, cough in the wind.
Shooting the breeze, blowing about, in all of the air that we share.
Island asylum, bubble of love, with air to breath and elbow room, without gloves Only in solitude can great work on number one.
Dont take your body for granite you know, or any stone.
You alone, a time to be well, and polish your shell Shooting the breeze, blowing about, are you breathing in a cough in the wind?
Island of health, mental disease, check your vital signs, alive and breathing.
A fading ember, delusion running wild A decaying flame you fanned, no longer burning bright Too many candles blowing, weigh you down, what for?
with a new flame burning , one foot in, one out the door Don't need to finish what you started, You need time turning off the spotlight, bowing out then pull the blinds Lean into the wind.
you been running into the ground But need the time to mend worn thin, burning at both ends, be free on a whim When you bite off more than you can chew, and no longer feel the longing could be in one place at one time a falling timber, crashing down from flying, dragging on and loaded down still going on for miles.
You've been running ragged, Carried the torch all day, all night, can you catch wild embers burning strong with new desire.
Don't be so un evolving, never turning on a dime to relieve the burden pave the way to change your mind Lean into the wind, you been running into the ground but need the time to mend Worn thin, burning at both ends, Be free on a whim To bite off more than you can chew, and no longer feel the longing If you could be in one place at one time... so long another plan persuaded the strait and arrow faded into a thousand winding roads that you cant know, if it aint the way that you go Nothing is clearer, 2020 in the rearview mirror if only the eyes in the back of your head are where you are led, what is tugging on your strings the long road aint waiving back but will it tug you off the track?
Youre always thinking forward, and always dreaming of the past Be not a puppet on a string, You are the real thing, off the cuff and out of your sleeve The long road aint waving back will it tug you off the track?
long way down, long while, feel the tugging off the tracks along way till then, so long a while youd wait that long?
Every now and again, once and a while, feel the tugging off the track along way till then, so long a while couldnt wait that long and you try to be, try to be, try to be, try to be try to be off the cuff try to be try, try to be, try to be off the cuff Bill and I have been playing together for six years.
I guess.
Played on like four albums together, and and my last album last February was released Bill performed on the album, so did Cooper this is actually the first show weve played with Paul The first time that these songs have been performed actually.
at least with the music I make, and this is just the way I see it, that maybe its a little bit mor about the bass and drums kinda the chord changes and the composition of the music and the words kinda come later sometimes.
get the vibe of the song going the structure and the drum beats and stuff, and then we kind of use that to guide our lyrics.
When I write songs theyre relaxing and calm Im kinda giving myself therapy in a way Hello, my name is Bill Tracy and this song is called Steel Boat.
Steel Boat you ripple my mind sift through the driftwood and drink the sunshine and my liver feels fine don't wanna go back to feeling pickled by time we dream where we dream and we live where we don't dream So steel boat you ripple my mind sift through the driftwood and drink the sunshine Let down my problems for you not what you wanted me to do.
I slept on the shoulder too long Didn't mean to do you no harm.
Whoa oh.
So steel boat you ripple my mind, sift through the driftwood and drink the sunshine and my liver feels fine.
Don't want to go back to feeling pickled by time we dream where we dream And we live where we don't dream so Steel boat you ripple my mind sift through the driftwood and d the sunshine.
This song is called My Best Please gonna take you to the highest land.
Hold your hand I'm gonna be your man.
Maybe I'll sweat for just a bit Don't leave me yet I need a little more time.
Oh, hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo.
So I blaze this stallion down to the city of trees Wake me up in the morning begging you with my best please.
So I blaze this stallion across the god damn country Wake me up in the morning Oh, free me from my misery free me from my misery.
All alone Im just a sitting duck It's hard to really care I try to have some luck fly in my dreams aviation schemes the people all wanna scream Shoot their laser beams.
Yeah.
Boom.
You so ablaze the stallion down to the city of trees and wake me up in the morning.
I'm begging you with my best, please.
So please, this style from across the goddamn country.
Wake me up.
In the morning.
This song is called Over this feeling catastrophic days just want to be ok and just like it I'm just trying to find my way oblivious there's not a thing to draw a crowd and my head and my head going nowhere, not know how over this feeling Right, right, right now open the ceiling, dry out the frown over this feeling Right, right now Open the ceiling Dry out the frown.
eye-aa-ohh Telepathic walkin everything's okay and just like it I've got so much love today Given up theres not a thing to bring me down and my head and my head going round and round and round over this feeling right, right, right now open the ceiling, dry out the frown over this feeling right, right now Open the ceiling dry out the frown Eye-aa-oohh, Eye-aa-oohh
