How to Watch WSRE Specials
WSRE Specials is available to stream on pbs.org and the free PBS App, available on iPhone, Apple TV, Android TV, Android smartphones, Amazon Fire TV, Amazon Fire Tablet, Roku, Samsung Smart TV, and Vizio.
As a PBS member station, WSRE plays a vital role in keeping the arts alive and making the worlds of music, theater, dance, and art from all genres available to everyone.
So we are pleased to share the good news that WSRE has been awarded a Foo Foo Fest grant for the Joyful Noise Gospel Celebration, a three day music event featuring the award winning gospel choir Sing Harlem under the direction of Ahmaya Knoelle Higginsen.
Sing Harlem is a highly respected and influential force in the New York gospel scene, performing at prestigious venues, programs, and concerts all across America.
Ahmaya Is the daughter of the renowned producer, author, playwright and broadcaster Vy Higginson.
Both Vy and Ahmaya will travel to Pensacola with Sing Harlem for the event, conducting an educational workshop at the Dickson School of Arts and Sciences.
Judging WSRE's Joyful Noise Gospel competition and performing a very special gospel brunch at Lilly Hall in downtown Pensacola.
That's all very exciting and we hope you will join us.
In February, we welcomed you to our Amos Studio for a jubilant film screening of the new PBS docu series GOSPEL, with spirited performances by local choirs, with an overwhelmingly positive response to that event.
We knew there was more we should do to celebrate the gospel sound that has been such a constant source of strength and courage on any given Sunday.
On behalf of the station's leadership at Pensacola State College, the WSRE TV Foundation Board of Directors and the station's talented team, we say thank you to Foo Foo Fest for their grant and their endorsement of WSRE's.
Joyful noise gospel celebration.
It's coming to Pensacola November 8th through the 10th.
So be ready to make a joyful noise with WSRE during Foo Foo Fest this fall.
