This year, Seattle's Pride Parade kicked off with a group that had been fighting to be officially recognized for years.
Leading the celebration, Seattle's Dykes on Bikes had over 50 riders from around the region.
The weekend soiree marked the first official Seattle chapter.
For nearly 50 years, the motorc but they didn't have an Emerald City chapter following years of unsuccessful efforts.
The bike tradition was born in 1976 when a small group in the San Francisco Pride March.
Organizers say since then, they have helped break for queer people and redefined cultural exp of how women are allowed to dress, act, and be themselves in society.
