You have to agree, it's the best.
I want to know what made you choose acting?
>>What made me choose acting?
I would definitely say- I mean, it gives me a chance to be able to tell stories, and I just feel like stories are so important because they create memories, and it shows people, it teaches people new things, so yeah it was because I got the chance to be able to tell stories.
>>Okay.
>>Yes, there's nothing like being a great storyteller.
You have met many actors and actresses.
It's been an amazing journey thus far.
How has it been for you?
>>I mean, it's been crazy.
It's been a lot of ups and downs, and my parents, they just like kept me focused and with my blinders on, so yeah I really want to thank my parents.
It's been amazing.
>>Good parents are good things to have in your life.
I am a big baseball fan, and I hear you're a big baseball fan.
What role has baseball played in your life?
>>What role has baseball- I would say in baseball, you're going to fail a lot.
I mean, going 3- doing good 3 out of 10 times is good, so I mean and that's the same thing with acting, so that kind of prepared me for not booking an audition, because there were stints where I didn't book anything, where I got no call-backs, so I mean I feel like it just prepared me mentally, and then it's also super fun, and I love baseball.
>>And it's fun to watch.
>>Yes, yes.
>>I heard that there was a role that you played, and it kind of led you to your nonprofit, a foundation that you started on behalf of you and your sister, correct?
>>Yes, yes, yes.
That was when I played Auggie on Chicago Med.
And I just wanted to create a nonprofit because it was like a chance to give back, and for me to get where I'm at right now, people like gave back to me and they poured information into me, so I kind of just wanted to do the same thing.
So that was a chance to do that.
>>I love that.
>>And then giving back at such a young age, that's just fantastic.
What advice do you have for someone that's out there, that says, "I think I want to be an actor," or "I think I want to be an actress," what advice do you have for them?
>>I would say, just stay consistent, focused, and just kind of have your blinders on and just worry about yourself, because God has a different plan for everybody, so somebody might be in a different place than you are right now, so just stay on your road, stay focused.
>>Yeah, I'm looking at your bio.
So you starred in Atlanta - FX, Chicago Med, G20 alongside Viola Davis, Marsai Martin, and Anthony Anderson.
What has been your favorite role thus far?
I know that's a hard one.
>>My favorite role?
That is a hard question.
I would have to say G20, because I mean I just had so many opportunities to learn, because the cast is amazing, so it was like a masterclass.
I was able to learn from everybody, so I just gained a lot of information and knowledge.
It was a fun time too, being in South Africa, so yeah.

I was going to say that, I didn't want to put any pressure on you, but I was going to say you're the next Denzel Washington.
>>Yeah, definitely Denzel.
>>What do you admire about Denzel?
>>I mean, he's just a great actor and a great storyteller, like I was saying in all of his roles he's the same person, but he's portraying a different person.
You can't see what he did in the last movie and the new movie, so I mean he's amazing, he's great.
>>I'm a licensed therapist, and when I think of all the things that you're doing, I mean you are a teenager, you're in school, you're acting, the foundation.
How do you balance it all?
>>I mean, I kind of just try to like take things as they come, get what needs to be done, done, and just yeah focus on that, but my parents also played a huge part in that in just like keeping me focused and grounded, so yeah that's kind of- I don't really have like a big- but yeah, I just kind of like try to get everything done.
>>So being in St. Louis, of course, do you have the Red Hot Riplets, do you have your favorite- what's your favorites?

♪ >>Welcome, welcome, welcome Mr. Tatum, thank you for saying yes.

What are you sipping on?
>>I'm sipping on coffee and honey.
>>Coffee and honey, that's a different combination.
>>It is.
I might have to try some coffee with a little honey.
>>I'll try it with you, Tracie, now we're going to be talking about financial literacy.
Talk to us about why it is so important for women to know about financial literacy.
>>Well, it's really important for everyone to know about financial literacy, but especially with women, because they face some very unique challenges, and those unique challenges can cause a lot of disruption in their lives.
They face the problem of saving, they face the problem of being paid less in the workforce, and so when it goes into retirement, they don't have all of the resources that they should have that last them for a lifetime.
And they live longer than men.
So they've got to prepare themselves a little bit better along the way.
And they have to become more financially literate to make sure that that happens.
>>Yes.
It's interesting that you say that, because I always say that I'm never going to retire.
I love what I do, I love all the things that I do, but there are different levels to retirement.
And when we talk about financial planning, it's not just about retirement, correct?
>>Correct, yeah.
When you talk about financial planning, you want to make sure that you have your Social Security, your Medicare, your life insurance, and all of that in place.
And you want to make sure that you have all the protection pieces in place.
And you want to make sure, the other part- you want to make sure you have your wills, your trusts, your power of attorney, your healthcare directive, and all of that in place.
That's all a part of that retirement piece.
It's all a part of life's piece, but definitely more specifically with retirement.
>>Do you find that people when they come to you, are they a little timid about telling you about everything they may have going on, or what they anticipate what retirement looks like for them?
>>They are, because most people have not planned for retirement, and most ladies, most women that come to me have not planned for retirement.
They are busy taking care of their home and their life, or they're doing caretaking and all of that, and so they don't have any retirement savings at all, in a lot of cases, so they're very hesitant about talking to me.
So oftentimes I have to kind of loosen them up a little bit, but we'll get there.
>>I was just wondering, what made you want to focus on women?
Because we're at such a vulnerable space at times when we're talking about these things.
I know my husband has a plan because he worked for someone.
I've been an entrepreneur my whole life, I haven't worked for someone.
But you specifically focus on women, which I think is amazing.
>>It really had to do with what I was put into.
I started off working just selling life insurance and doing the financial piece, trying to save everybody.
But I narrowed it down, because most of my clients started being women, and most of them had some of the same three problems.
They wanted to know, do I have to go on a budget?
Do I have to change my lifestyle?
And how do I avoid becoming a burden to my children?
And so they lack the knowledge oftentimes because of divorce or death in the family, and so I just decided to start focusing my practice to become more directed toward helping women.
And I've got three daughters, and so I wanted to make sure that they understood how money really works, and it's been a very wonderful journey.
I love every minute of it, I've had a joyful time doing it because I can see the benefits coming out of what I've- >>Well, I am sure you have helped a ton of people.
And you've helped them to be well, because knowing about your money is a part of wellness.
And we are a wellness show.
Please tell us, Mr. Tatum, how do you stay well?
>>Well, let me just throw you this- money is no good unless you have health.
Money and wealth go together, and so I kind of teach that, too.
I work out four days a week.
>>You look good.
>>Sometimes five, and I don't like it, I mean I get up in the morning.
>>I don't like it either!
I don't.
>>I fear for the morning, but I work out.
And I watch what I eat.
I'm very cognizant of what I eat.
I do go off the wagon a little bit.
>>Everyone does, everyone does.
>>But I'm very cognizant of what I eat, and I go to the doctor regularly, making sure that he's watching all my vitals and keeping me in pretty good shape.
>>That's the best advice that you have given us thus far.
We always ask our guest, what is your wellness word for today?
What is your wellness word?
>>What is my wellness word?
It's to stay focused on your health, stay focused on your health.
And make sure that you know what is going on with your body.
If something changes, make sure you tell somebody.
>>Absolutely, absolutely.
Well Tracie, are you ready for the Own Your Now Show flow?
>>Yes I am, I am, I am, I am.
>>Well, I have to ask you, what is your wellness word?
>>I think for me, my wellness word is going to be 'asset.'
I think it's important, as I said earlier, that we are an asset.
I'd rather just be an asset instead of a debit.
>>Yes, yes.
>>You're your greatest asset.
>>Our greatest asset.
Yes we are, yes we are.
Well Lady Yo, I didn't ask you, what is your wellness word?
>>Rest, rest.
>>Well, one of the things we always do is we call it like the "joy cypher," it's where I literally just take all of the words from our day and wrap them up, because after all it's all about us pushing through things.
We talked earlier, and you said prayer is the key.
Prayer is the key for perseverance, because when we persevere through different things in life, it allows us to be able to sit back and rest, but also understand that we are an asset, and that's important to the whole flow of things.
Lady Yo, speaking about the flow of things, who is our vibey vibe guest of the day?
>>Well, we have Myles Lacey.
He is an awesome singer, and when he comes on he's going to sing us into the day.
>>That's right, so here goes our "Vibe In the Box."
And remember, next time what do we need to do, Lady Yo?
>>We need to keep sipping on peace, love, and positivity.
