#### State Senator Gerald Neal has prefiled legislation creating a Juneteenth state holiday in Kentucky.
Congress passed, and President Biden signed, a bill creating a federal holiday.
Neal's bill would establish June 19th as a paid state holiday that would honor and reflect on the roles African Americans have played in the history of the U.S. #### The UK Board of Trustees passed the five-billion dollar budget plan we told you about Wednesday.
The Lexington Herald-Leader reports that budget increases tuition by one percent, and increases the employee minimum wage to 15 dollars an hour.
#### The state says it paid 14-thousand Kentuckians TOO much in unemployment insurance benefits in 2020.
Now, those people can apply for a waiver, so they won't have to pay back the extra money.
The state is mailing letters to the people affected.
