#### Senator Mitch McConnell says he is against passing the John Lewis Voting Rights Act.
The bill would restore PART of the 1965 Voting Rights Act - thrown out by the U.S. Supreme Court -- requiring areas with a history of voter suppression to get federal permission to change how their elections work.
Senator McConnell told reporters Tuesday conditions are different now than they were in 1965, so there's no need for the bill.
#### Lexington is a step closer to banning no-knock warrants.
The Herald-Leader says the Urban County Council voted nine to six for the ban, in a work session meeting yesterday.
It will be on Thursday's meeting agenda, with a final vote on June 24th.
