(pensive music) (singing) [Taw Taw Wah] I was 8 when I came.
Coming to the United States, everything was new.
I remember I couldn't read at all because all the words were in English and it was really hard to understand what was going on because everything was way different from Burma and Thailand.
I am a high school student at Willmar High School.
And ever since I came here, it's been a very welcoming experience.
And I feel like I have a lot of opportunities to accomplish what I want to do.
The Karen people are very nice people.
They are very hard working and as immigrants here, they work really hard.
Sometimes they don't have the same opportunity because some of them do not have the skills to speak English like first generations do.
But I assure you, they are very hardworking.
