Nationwide, The Daily Yonder reports that food insecurity in rural rural areas grew by 4% in 2022.
It now affects 15% of people in rural America.
Now, in urban America, food insecurity went up 2% and affects 12% of the population.
Food insecurity is defined as the condition of not having access to sufficient food or food of an adequate quality to meet one's basic needs.
A recent Department of AG study showed food insecurity in Kentucky at 13.1%.
