Last week, we told you an appeals court disqualified State Representative Nemo Cochran, a Louisville Democrat, seeking reelection.
Today, Louisville Public Media reports Chief Justice Lawrence VanMeter issued an order, pausing the lower court's ruling.
But the chief justice also said the secretary of state can't certify the results of the Democratic primary in House District 40 until the Supreme Court hears the case and issues its own ruling.
Oral arguments are set for June 6th.
This all comes after Denis Hollander, who ran against Carney twice before, challenged the paperwork.
She filed to run.
Those papers had to be signed by two Democratic witnesses.
Orlando says one of her witnesses was a registered Republican who changed her registration after the filing deadline.
Carney has one opponent in tomorrow's primary.
William Zeitz, no Republican filed to run in this district.
