The court will consider whether a funding mechanism for charter schools is constitutional.

The Kentucky Supreme Court is set to hear arguments regarding the constitutionality of a state law focused on charter schools. House Bill 9, passed in 2022, created a funding mechanism for charter schools by requiring funds to be diverted from local school districts. A Circuit Court Judge ruled the law violates Kentucky's Constitution because it allows public money to fund non-public schools.
