That is good news for Kentucky's bourbon economy.
Canada's prime minister made the announcement today, saying the country will once again honor the U.S. Mexico-canada trade pact.
The deal is designed to reset trade talks between the two countries, as the trade deal is up for review in 2026.
The Kentucky Distillers Association is applauding the news.
President Eric Gregory said, quote, we applaud Prime Minister Mark Carney's decision to restore reciprocal 0 to 0 tariffs for Kentucky bourbon.
We hope this action will cut will jumpstart negotiations on a permanent trade deal benefiting both American businesses and Canadian consumers seeking to enjoy America's only native spirit.
