The U.S. Supreme Court ruled Friday morning that same-sex couples have a fundamental right to marry. A report released this week shows that African-Americans are disproportionately represented in San Francisco's courts and jails. Among the report's findings: While black adults represent only 6 percent of the population, they represent 40 percent of the people arrested.
