Silicon Valley companies, along with some of the world’s largest automakers, are racing to bring self-driving cars to the market. But the fast pace of development is adding pressure on regulators to tackle unresolved issues. Incumbent Ed Lee is running for a second term as San Francisco’s mayor. There are five other candidates in the race, but none have the resources to mount a serious challenge.
