The show begins with a story about the death of a Topeka resident with a schizophrenic disorder who was shot & killed by police. His mother and his sister describe the events leading up to his death, which prompted the creation of Crisis Intervention Team training. Studio interviews focus on CIT training as well as on counseling programs for PTSD offered by the VA Medical Center.
