(light music) - KUER , NPR Utah is part of a national project called America Amplified with the goal to center Utah voters this election season.
News Director Elaine Clark is here with more information.
Hi Elaine, thank you so much for being here.
So tell us what America Amplified is.
- It is a national project that's really aimed at centering voters in election coverage.
So rather than the sort of horse race of politics, who's ahead in the polls, the goal is really to ask voters what do you want to know to help you make an informed decision and then giving us as reporters the opportunity to report on that so they can make those decisions.
- And informed voters are so important, and I know you really wanna target, especially those age 25 to 34.
- Yes, Utah is the youngest state in the nation, and we are like many places facing challenges, economic, environmental, cultural, and really the 25 to 34-year-old group is facing that in a unique way.
They're starting out their careers, they're starting their families, they're trying to buy houses.
So we think that their insight will really help us create informed reporting for all voters.
- Ah, and that's great.
So how do they submit questions to you?
- Well, KUER and PBS Utah are working together right now to create a voter guide for the primary election.
So we'll be looking at the candidates that come out of the convention and the signature gathering process.
And so to create those voter guides, we are hoping that our listeners, our audience, all Utah voters, will submit their questions for candidates so that we can in turn pose those to the candidates.
They can do that by going to KUER.org.
- Okay, great, Elaine, thank you so much for doing it and for being here, thank you.
- Thank you, Mary.
- And if you'd like to know more about how you can submit your questions for the America Amplified project of KUER this election season, go to KUER.org.
So easy, KUER.org, and you can submit through April 17th.
I'm Mary Dickson, thanks for watching Contact.
