But kentuckys Senate Republicans have asked the federal government to push back that date.
Currently, two out of three Kentucky license holders do not have a real ID.
A lawmaker from Lebanon says there's long lines at DMV offices.
Every regional office in eastern Kentucky and western Kentucky has availability today.
For real, to get do appointments, to get real ID.
There's not a single office in the lower Lexington area or northern Kentucky.
They're all out in the June before you can get an appointment.
You know, we suspended this thing four times.
And I really think the people that I talked to, back, you know, October, November.
But, you know, we're not we're not going to worry about this.
They'll suspend it again.
And, you know, that that hasn't happened.
And right now, it's looking like it won't happen and we'll be, no more.
Be pessimistic, but then we'll, you know, look at it.
Now, what can we do if, if this request is not granted?
And it was it was a Hail Mary.
But I felt like it was, you know, needed to do something to try to get us some reprieve and and help these folks to wherever problem at the regional offices.
May 7th date is not a deadline, per se.
