Labor shortage is shrinking NJ's supply of lifeguards

In a lot of shore towns, there won’t be as many interactions this summer. Places like Cape May could be forced to close some beaches because there aren’t enough lifeguards. It’s not just the labor shortage shrinking New Jersey’s supply of lifeguards. The pandemic cut into training programs for the last two years, and rising rents have priced out people who might want to live down the shore.
