All people are now accounted for.
Those lucky to survive the storm have uncertain housing for the near future.
Our June Lefler has that story.
A tornado ripped through a neighborhood near the airport.
Siding blown off homes hangs from power lines.
Residents of Findlay Trailer Park recalled the Friday night storm when I opened up my door.
I heard that sound, man, they say, sounds like a train may.
It sounded like a line coming in.
You know, it's I had three kids and my old lady in in the bathroom hoping and praying.
My cousin called from bar, said it was headed towards us and said, take shelter.
I tried to pull the cat over me.
Couldn't because it was too heavy.
I finally got the recliner over top of me.
I could hear it getting closer and closer.
Things going up.
People scream and stuff shattered and Transformers blowing.
And it was the scariest thing in my life.
I don't want to go through it again.
I can't get it out of my head.
I always wondered what people thought about when seen on TV.
But now, when you live through it, you know what they're thinking, you know?
I mean, God was over us, and I thank him every day for letting us later this year.
Now.
Crews work to restore power to the trailer park in neighborhoods throughout Laurel County.
Even homes still standing do not have the essentials.
You really don't think about things that you need drinking water.
Toilet water.
Just nonperishable food.
I mean, kids toys.
Like, just some of the things that people don't have right now is just that's you wouldn't think that you as the missing neighbors living in these homes, have wound up in a hotel with some outside assistance, though they won't be here for long.
The whole part unlivable.
And I said, after the three days, they might be another place that would help us.
Others are staying put.
Well, I got big family and everything.
They're having a hard time for something, and everybody's been working hard trying to get a camper donated or any time to help out with people that ain't got nowhere to really go.
I mean, I got I got help, but it can't pile up on everybody, you know.
With reporting from Mackenzie Spink, I'm June Leffler for Kentucky Edition.
