Lawmakers Could Have New Option for Lowering Income Tax

An amended bill would allow the reduction to be as little as 0.1%.

A bill that could give lawmakers more discretion when it comes to lowering Kentucky's income tax is swiftly moving through Frankfort. A committee passed House Bill 775 on Tuesday. It would allow lawmakers to reduce the income tax by 0.1-0.5%. The bill was passed on the House floor the same day, despite numerous additions to the bill that Democrats said should be further debated before the public.
