Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorshipWe have five pigs.
We just started farming this year.
We drove out to Pennsylvania to pick'em up from my cousin who is a Kunekune pig farmer, and we're giving it a go.
Well, the first one is Buddy.
He's a big white boar.
And then we have two male pigs that are Pig and Piggers And then we have two sows: Ginger and Duchess.
Ginger is the ginger colored one.
So the first thing we do is we just pour some grain into a bucket.
We mix it with some sunflower seeds and some pig pellets, and then we hydrate it.
And we usually let it sit for a few hours to let the food absorb the water so it's easier for the pigs to digest.
We usually feed'em twice a day.
They gobble it up pretty quick.
It's, you know, just a matter of minutes before they're done eatin' their food.
Well, the favorite thing about owning pigs is, you know, the reward at the end of raising them, you get to eat them and hopefully make some more.
It's exciting.
