Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorshipKids were made to learn through play, and so the playscapes provide an opportunity for them to do both.
You know, you've heard people talk about the achievement gap, but really it's an opportunity gap.
We have amazing nature based, play based programs throughout this community that aren't accessible to a lot of families because they're tuition based or they're part time or transportation is an issue.
That's what's fun for me is that all of the kids in our community will get the same experiences playing together teamwork, training, sharing all the thing that we want to work on inside.
We also want to be able to bring outside as much as possible and really those skills that we're able to get kids ready for kindergarten.
Getting ready to be successful socially is really our biggest goal.
The public has and does use this particular place game.
We've come during times when we've been adding little elements and there have been families here with very young children playing and they prefer it to the school playground designed specifically for kids five and under.
So a safe, natural space for families with young children to enjoy.
