(drumsticks tapping) - Hi, We are Lesser Care, This is sound on tap its hard to sense, it<s hard to feel anything I bent the arm to bloom every hour with the rhythm Constantly, I found my peace, to allow the worst come You<re still feeling the same between the blades How am I supposed to feel any love again?
I don<t want to look, I just want to heal In the mourning I don<t want to look, I just want to heal In the mourning I don<t want to look, I just want to heal In the mourning I don<t want to look, I just want to heal In the mourning I don<t want to look, I just want to heal I don<t want to look, I just want to heal - I mean, from my recollection, it was Desmond here.
He got into my ear and one of our other friends Jose about starting a project of this sort and it took a while to get the ball rolling.
There's quite a few like changes within the personnel.
And then I know here we are, what two years later now?
Like a year, like a year and a half later we finally like have things solidified and stuff.
So it's a, it's a pretty Rocky start but it's kind of a innocuous question on his behalf that we wanted to start something like this.
- Yeah.
I remember changes lineup changes.
You know, we had like this dude playing drums in the beginning to see playing bass in the beginning and then towards like When we actually wanted to like actually push it to the next level.
That's when we were like, you know, this is let's see how far we can take it.
You know, like play into our strengths more so than our sight instruments.
Yeah.
Which was the original intention COVID kind of helped.
Cause we got to sit down and write stuff.
We would just send each other files back and forth and that kind of helps get the ball rolling.
And there you were a peak in my eyes behind some blinds And there you were Not fond of disguise How long before you realize?
I found you there, heavy with your burdens, not enough to keep yourself from drowning again If I follow the bay Along this cyber creek Will it lead to the end?
Before it finds me?
Maybe we can pretend That we were always perfect Maybe we can pretend God is drifting away With a different face It<s getting hard to defend With a different taste It<s getting hard to defend It<s an acquired taste I found you there, heavy with your burdens, not enough to keep yourself from drowning again I found you there, heavy with your burdens, not enough to keep yourself from drowning again I found you there, - You can kind of emulate the same energy that you would get by playing to a bunch of people or touring.
I mean, by just really building yourself on social media I mean, we've really tried our best to stay relevant when it comes to like merchandise or just anything people can still hold on to, without having to go and actually watch us cause impossible right now.
But I think there's ways around it and it's definitely been tough mainly because we want to play.
We want to go out and tour when I do all that all that fun stuff.
But I mean, I think we're, I think we're holding up pretty well.
If anything, it's been more of a benefit than pushed us to record, push us to write more but that shows it to play.
The only other thing you do is write record practice.
So someone at a benefit Hung off the side of the bed Blood rushing down to your paralyzed legs A pull against your morals sits too well inside your stomach Weigh down on the damaged cliffs holding you I dont want to sweat into the leather seats anymore I dont want to sweat into the leather seats anymore So tell me why does the sun shine so bright?
Why You<re wasting day light?
Why are you wasting time?
You<re crawling back to the sun I forgave the night, so don<t say you don<t have my heart or my shadow I walked right through the door, with high hopes that were weighing me down I dont want to sweat into the leather seats anymore I dont want to sweat into the leather seats anymore So tell me why does the sun shine so bright?
Why You<re wasting day light?
Why You<re wasting time?
You<re crawling back to the sun You<re crawling back to the sun You<re crawling back to the sun - I'm trying my best to, to, to put together some demos and sort of demo.
And I would send it to these dudes just so they can get an idea, send each other files back and forth.
So we, so we can practice without having to actually get together.
And, and I mean really how the EP was written.
Most of it was through logic, sending each other files back and forth and they're finally getting together and being like, you know, this is the, this is the finished product.
And I mean, yeah, I mean, it was all remote for the longest time until we got comfortable enough and understood each other's boundaries, practice safety getting together again.
- Yeah.
We were able to record safely, like at two different places and, and I have a mask on the whole time I could show the actual studio but it was just us three and then like the engineering.
So it was never like a bunch of people involved in it.
Yeah Passing through a dream Longing for a taste of light Asking for a break or sign Destined to breath In the lies I don<t wanna be just like you Standing on the balcony I don<t wanna be just like you Standing on the balcony I used to dream about the night, under the moon, just like you Tie up my wrist and chase the night For me, for you I don<t wanna be just like you Standing on the balcony I don<t wanna be just like you Standing on the balcony hollering Over again, Over again Over again, Over again I don<t wanna be just like you Standing on the balcony hollering I don<t wanna be just like you Standing on the balcony hollering - so it was pre-existing.
- And then earlier on last year it was what bell like five months where we didn't like actually physically practice and get together.
And then once we finally got back together, like within a span of maybe two months, we had everything hammered out for the first EP and recorded it and put it all out and made a ample use of our time.
I'd say, despite it being a Confined to our own houses - It like makes that achieving like greater just cause so excited.
And I'm like, well, like what we're doing and not being able to even play our first show it's pretty devastating.
And then, you know, going back on memories like looking back at old videos of shows I went to or bands I used to play with an old friends, towns, places.
Yeah.
It's, it's been a huge bummer but I mean just kind of hanging on to some hope then at the tunnel, pretty much I agree.
A hundred percent.
- I initially was pretty, pretty down and out about not being able to play shows and especially with this project.
But I think on the flip side to that it forced us to really focus on like studio stuff which is something I never really had the opportunity to do with like previous projects.
Like the idea was there, but we never actually got to do it because we were distracted by playing shows.
Yeah.
It's not that we don't have shows to play.
It's been nice.
Pretty much.
It's like, Hey, you can either do this or it's nothing.
And so it's, it's been nice to like get more into that realm of things.
As far as music goes I<m holding the sonnet, I<m holding my grief Covered in the fluid wired defeat all alone I know where I stand but it<s hard to except Validation falling and hitting my head on the way down But I<ll crash, before I shoot a shot to leave the room, With no chance, to climb your Eifle tower of truth You look defeated, I took a long time thinking about How fars the high road?
If you look from the top, all the way down How far will you go for validation?
I<m holding the sonnet, I<m holding my grief Covered in the fluid wired defeat all alone, no validation
