Letters from Vietnam: Lucy's Boys Part 2
Clip: Season 10 Episode 13 | 8m 20sVideo has Closed Captions
'My heart aches with yours.' Wounded Marines remember 'Lucy's letters' from Vietnam.
A few months ago, PBS Charlotte celebrated Veterans Day by telling you about Lucy Caldwell – a USO volunteer who wrote letters for wounded Marines in Vietnam. Many were ‘last letters’, saying goodbye to family and friends. But Lucy’s letters were also often the beginning – of a long road to recovery for those Marines who survived the war. And of lifelong friendships that also survived.
