Sculptor Ed Hamilton posted these pictures on Facebook of the bronze sculpture he made of Lincoln.
The statue was dedicated in 2009 and is located at Waterfront Park in Louisville.
Hamilton said there was a top hat resting next to Lincoln and someone pried it from the base.
A police report was filed.
Park officials are reviewing video recordings.
