Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorshipThe thing that I like about punk is that there is no one definition.
It's playing what's what matters to you.
You know?
It's playing what feels right to you.
It's like it's amplifying your own voice when no one else will.
I Eloise.
I play bass.
I'm Lucia.
I play guitar.
I'm Bella.I play guitar.
I'm Mila, and I play drums.
And we're the Linda Lindas.
So actually I went to school in Chinatown.
It has like this really cool, like musical history, you know, where all these cool bands would play the Hong Kong Cafe and Madam Wong.
The Adolescents, and Channel 3, The Gears, you know, The Weirdos and The Germs.
The Dillsbut yeah, Alley Cats!
-I love them.
Sorry, I just making a list.
- It goes on and on.
Growing up seeing those bands really influenced us to believe that we didn't have to wait until we were older.
If the audience is having fun then we're having fun.
And if we're having fun, the audience having fun, it is just about giving and receiving.
Not caring If you make mistakes because you're in it together.
I think that we as a band are told a lot about who we could be, who might be or who they are, just like labels.
And so it's important for each of us to have our own identity in the band and an identity together.
We all write songs and we all sing.
And so you can really see each of our different personalities.
I mean, our music is like a reflection of who we are, you know, like the songs that we write is just kind of where we're writing about our experiences and the world around us.
So of course, you know, identity is going to play a part in it because we're the ones writing the songs.
